Saturday, September 19, 2026 marked an important milestone for Texas B.A.S.S. Nation Youth as the Central Region held its inaugural tournament at Lake Limestone.
A total of 47 teams took to the water from the #2 Boat Ramp for Stop #1 of the 2026-2027 season, officially kicking off a brand-new chapter of Youth competition in Central Texas.
Anglers were greeted by a beautiful sunny day with a slight breeze, but comfortable conditions above the water did not necessarily translate to an easy bite below it. Lake Limestone made plenty of teams work for their fish, and the day proved challenging for many anglers.
Even so, 84 fish were caught, some quality bags made their way to the scales, and the first Central Region champions of the season were crowned.

Stop #1 establishes the first standings of the season, but there is a lot of fishing still ahead. Every tournament will matter as teams work toward the top of the standings and eventually the Central Regional Championship.

Thank You to Our Volunteers
Launching a brand-new region takes more than putting a tournament on the calendar. It takes people willing to show up, help where needed, work behind the scenes, and give their time so our young anglers can have a quality tournament experience.
To every volunteer who helped make the inaugural Central Region tournament possible, thank you. Your time and support played a direct role in making this first event a success.
We also want to give a special thank you to Central Region Director Garrett Gill for the time, work, and commitment required to get the Central Region established and its inaugural season underway.
This was tournament number one, but it represents the beginning of something much bigger for Youth bass fishing in Central Texas.
Thank You to Our Sponsors
The Central Region could not provide these opportunities without businesses and organizations willing to invest in young anglers.
A sincere thank you to:
Your support helps Texas B.A.S.S. Nation Youth operate tournaments, grow opportunities for young anglers, and continue putting real cash awards back into the hands of student competitors.
Please support the businesses that support our anglers.
Next Up: Stop #2 at Lake Whitney
The inaugural tournament may be complete, but the Central Region season is just getting started.
